Radio Frequency Facials

Sagging skin, wrinkles and fine lines are common issues that stem from genetics or photodamage caused by exposure to the sun. Over time, collagen and elastin, two components present within your skin, break down and cause your skin to lose its elasticity.

During a Radio Rrequency (RF) skin tightening procedure, heat is used to encourage the production of new collagen and elastin. The renewed production of these components helps to eliminate wrinkles and fine lines, and tightens skin.

The treatment can be used on the face to tighten any loose and sagging skin. It is also suitable for any age group, although best suited to those with mild-mid stages of loose skin.

It is an appropriate treatment for the face because the ageing process sees a reduction in the amount of fat, particularly on the cheeks. Instead of plumping out the tissues (the outcome of filler treatments), it simply aims to tighten up the sagging skin in areas such as the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and jowls.

Radio frequency can be performed as a stand alone treatment for skin tightening or combined with a deep cleanse facial and/or shallow microneedling.

Benefits of Radio Frequency for the face:

  • Increases skin firmness

  • Helps tighten the skin, reducing loose skin

  • Reduces lines and wrinkles

  • Lift the brows and tighten the skin on the forehead

  • Thicken and tighten the skin under the eyes

  • Lift and diminish enlarged pores on the cheeks and midface

  • Reduce jowls and sagging along the jaw line

  • Tighten skin and diminish wrinkling on the neck

Is Radio Frequency safe?

RF skin tightening procedures cause few side effects and little to no downtime. All studies report no permanent side effects following treatment.

Patients may sometimes experience erythema, or reddening of the skin, after a procedure. Erythema typically fades within 24 hours after treatment.

Some clients may experience a slight swelling which can last up to 24 hours after treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

A course of 6-12 treatments is recommended about one week apart, with the best effect being seen two months following the final treatment. Dependent on how deep the lines and wrinkle are is dependent on the number of treatments required. Many clients like to have monthly treatments as a preventative to aging and to keep their face looking it’s best.

Any deep exfoliation treatment – such as chemical peels or skin needling (deeper than 0.3mm), should be avoided a week prior to your treatment.

Drink plenty of water starting a few days prior to treatment as the more moisture in the skin, the better the results.
